On Saturday, Dartmouth wore its silver/dark gray alternate helmet and pants for the first time against Penn. The new colors look strange on the Big Green, but there is a precedent — you have go back, oh, only 60 years or so. I’m still putting the tweaks on a “leatherhead” template. When I’m satisfied with it, I’ll get a ’54 Dartmouth uniform on here.
After the season, Big Green coach DeOrmond “Tuss” McLaughry resigned and the silver garb left Hanover with him. New coach Bob Blackman overhauled the uniforms … but that’s for another time. :)
